WALLER AND CUNNINGHAM EXPLAIN MITIGATION Dani Waller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); having earned two Master's Degrees.  Dani has provided training for others in the field of mitigation by lecturing at numerous conferences and also collaborated with the Center for Justice in Capital Cases at DePaul University.    Doctor Mark Cunningham of Dallas, Texas joined her with insight into a number of mitigation issues In June 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Scott Panetti case regarding competency to be executed. A conceptualization articulated by Dr. Cunningham in the federal hearing was quoted in the Supreme Court opinion and served as the central focus of the arguments. Their presentations at Death By Trial 2008 were a highlight of the conference.
