WARREN OHIO PAYS $300,000 FOR TASING

Warren Ohio will pay a woman who was repeatedly tased outside a bar $300,000 in settlement of her claims.  The incident, as are so many, was recorded on a police car dash camera. There were burn marks on the 38 year old woman's pants, and allegations of a beating and kicking spree by the officer as well .   Of course there is a YOUTUBE HORROR VIDEO  This reminds one of the old 1950's cowboy movies where the bad guys shout "dance, fool" as the shoot up the floor around their victim.  The officer is zapping and commanding over and over. 8/24/10

TASER DAZE - SOME INFORMATION ON THE SHOCKING BOLTS FROM MEN IN BLUE

A Taser either fires electrified darts or can be pressed directly against a person to stun and immobilize them.

Memory of lifetime? Definitely. 17 year old takes the diamond at major league game and is tased into submission.  5/4/2010

It all started when Campus Cops tased a student for disrupting a John Kerry appearance at the University of Florida: in the time since the shocking truth is the jolt bolt is favored to demand order and even respect. Joe College even did a song.  It can even happen at Best Buy when police think you "just didn't listen" .  In one incident a bondsman blamed a two year old being tased on the target: "baby shield" ?   One of our favorites, Steven Colbert, had a great parody of all this zapping worth review.

Dogs have been zapped in Dallas.

Cows in an unknown location.   Even cops by threes, who must be tased as part of their training, apparently in a Southern Dpt.

Even a mother to be, in Seattle, zapped because she wouldn't sign a summons. Which is more common than you would think.

There is no age limit: in Texas "I dare you" is no way to avoid being tased!   Wanting to see proof and demanding the tape can lead to zapping of mom in front of her kids

Tasers can be dangerous and Guidelines have been published about their use.  The very common and often quick shot use of the taser appears to be encouraged by the belief they do no harm, but recent data shows the high voltage jolt can impact neurological and muscular function, including the heart, and some recent reports suggest there is real danger , including a factory issued warning to avoid the trunk so that heart function is not disrupted.

Certainly the dog, the bull, the granma and the mommy all are better off for not being shot with lead, and the circumstances of some taser use, including police self tazing and newsmen being zapped, are tinted with humor. But one is left with the impression that violence is never far from any incident involving police.  Some of them are trained to demand respect and submission in all circumstances, and will enforce that "rule" with zooming electrons at the drop of a battery.
